First time to Costa Rica, need suggestions

Hello everyone out there, my husband and I are planning to go this summer, we are in 20s and love all activities, zip line, river rafting, ATV, waterfalls, swimming in ocean and beaches, who does not, right? And explore wildlife and forest. Please help let us know what airport/ beach or city we should land off? Any advise is valuable to us. Thanks very much

Costa Rica is a great place to explore rainforests, wildlife, waterfalls, beaches, ziplines, whitewater rafting and ATV tours. There are however a whole lot of places in Costa Rica that fit that set of requirements and it's hard to say which would be a best fit for you. We also have no idea how long you will be in country - one week, two or more?

Assuming it's an 8 day/7 night trip and you fly into/out of San Jose, two options are:

1. Fly into SJO and overnight in Alajuela or San Jose. If you arrive early enough you could check out museums in San Jose or explore the LaPaz Waterfall Gardens. Day 2 is an all-day whitewater rafting trip on the Pacuare River with pickup at your hotel and dropoff in Arenal for the next 3 nights. Day 3 you could check out ziplines in Arenal in the morning and visit the LaFortuna water fall in the afternoon before heading to an evening at Tabacon hotsprings. Day 4 spend a morning hiking at the Arenal Volcano national park or Mistico Hanging Bridges before heading to the local airport for a direct flight to Quepos (20 minutes). Pick up a 4x4 rental car at the Quepos airport and drive one hour south to Uvita for the next 4 nights. Options include TikiVillas Rainforest Lodge, Oxygen Jungle Villas, Finca Bavaria or Pacific Edge, all in the hills with incredible ocean views. The 2nd & 3rd options above have hiking trails and waterfalls onsite. There is tons of stuff to do in this area including multiple beaches and waterfalls to check out, great ATV rides to more waterfalls up in the hills and rainforest hiking at Hacienda Baru or Oro Verde. In fact you could easily spend a week here and never want to leave. If you can book an afternoon or evening flight home it's an easy 4 hour drive back to SJO.

2. Fly into SJO and overnight in San Jose. Take an all day whitewater rafting trip on the Pacuare with pickup at your hotel and dropoff in Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean coast.: https:/…pacuare-rafting.html Spend 4 nights there and check out beaches, hiking in Cahuita National Park, Gandoca Manzanillo Reserve, the Jaguar Rescue Center, maybe a surfing lesson or a daytrip upriver to visit the indigenous BriBri people, and check out Volio waterfall. Rent bikes to get around during the day and check out the beaches. Then head to Moin to catch a bus to Tortuguero for 2 nights to explore the wildlife by boat and check out night tours turtle nesting. Take a public bus back to San Jose for your last night before flying home. See http://www.puertoviejosatellite.com/ and http://www.tortuguerovillage.com/ to see if these areas are a good fit for you. the Caribbean coast has beautiful beaches south of Puerto Viejo, tons of wildlife and even nightlife in Puerto Viejo.

There are lots and lots more options but I wanted to start you with two. You could also explore https:/…destinations to try and narrow down your options.
