travel options

during a trip to costa rica in Feb, we plan a week in manuel antonio,

- then traveling by ferry to santa teresa for 5-6 days (how long will trip take?),

-then to arenal for 3-4 days (best way to travel between santa teresa and arenal? how are roads? option by air? best place to stay if travel by air?)

-then to monte verde for two days (travel options?)

-then to san jose overnight before air home (travel options? suggestions for accommodations?)

thanks

1. Re: travel options

The fastest way to get to Santa Teresa would be to take a bus to Jaco (1.5 hrs to Jaco) and a boat to Montezuma and cab it from there to Santa Teresa or take the public bus. Here's a link to one of the boat companies https://www.montezuma-hotels.com/taxi-boat-s…

-From Arenal to Monteverde you could do the "jeep boat jeep" around 3 hrs or so travel time $25 p/p www.transportcostarica.net/TaxiBoat.htm

-Monteverde to San jose- public bus leaving MV to San Jose at 6:30am or 2:30 pm (around 4 hrs-4.5hrs) or Interbus (shuttle bus) should be around $40 p/p. They will pick you up from your hotel.

- In San Jose Some hotels close to the airport are: Hotel la Rosa de America (free airport pickup), Orquideas Inn Hotel and Resort (10 min from airport) The Hotel Trapp Family Country Inn (5 min from airport) http://trappfamilycostarica.com/

Hope this gave you some idea, have a great trip!

Dear retire...

Let me try...

- then traveling by ferry to santa teresa for 5-6 days (how long will trip take?),

From MA to ST..about about 6 hours with the ferry time..

-then to arenal for 3-4 days (best way to travel between santa teresa and arenal? how are roads? option by air? best place to stay if travel by air?)

Roads are in good condition...I can tell you more tomorrow since I´m driving some passengers between Cladera and ST...but most of the time roads are not that bad..by air you can fly out of MA back to SJO then to Tambor then a cab or any road transfer to ST...

-then to monte verde for two days (travel options?) The best by car...ferrry and then car again...aout 5 hours...

-then to san jose overnight before air home (travel options? suggestions for accommodations?)

The same from Monteverde to SJO...about 3 hours drive...and all depends about your budget for a hotel...many good options...
