Best way to Placencia from Cozumel?

Hello Placencia forum!

I've always found TA forums to be extremely helpful, so I'm hoping some of you can help me plan my honeymoon!

My fiance and I are planning on spending two weeks in Cozumel before jetting off to Belize for a week. We'd like to stay in Placencia and I was wondering if anyone could tell us the best way to get there? I've tried googling and doing a bit of research but I wasn't able to find any real straightforward way or instruction on how people have done this. Anyway, if you have any insights, it would be much appreciated!

Happy travels,

Cathy

One option is to get to the Cancun airport and fly to Belize City from there on Tropic Air. Then, catch a flight to Placencia.

Or, head to Playa del Carmen and take an ADO bus to the border. Or, take the overnight ADO bus that goes to Belize City.

Once in Belize, arrange a transfer, rent a car or fly, or, take a Belize bus, but, they aren't nearly as nice as those in Mexico.

The "BEST" way -- I'd say fly all the way. Tropic Air from Cancun to BC, then to Placencia.

If time is not a problem, you could rent a car.

If you want to go cheaply, go by bus, but it's a long trip.

The BelizeBus website has more detail of all options...
