A friend and I will be heading to Hatchet Caye in like a week (squeeee!). Although our package at the resort includes meals, we will want to have snacks in case we miss mealtimes or if we get hungry between meals. Some questions:
1. Is there anyplace online where I can see what is or isn't allowed through customs to Belize? We're thinking snacks like trail mix, banana chips (I've recently developed a serious banana chip habit, LOL), maybe some crackers, stuff that doesn't need to be refrigerated. I've tried googling to see what's allowed and haven't been able to find anything "official".
2. Dose anyone know if there will be places to stop between the Placencia airport and the boat dock that Hatchet Caye uses to pick up some locally grown/made fruit/snacks? In Bora Bora, there were lots of roadside tables set up for that sort of thing. I'm hoping Placencia will be the same way.
3. Also, I'm scared to snorkel, but I really want to try it. (Sheesh, I sound like 10 year old girl, not a 35 year old woman. Perhaps now that I'm older, I'm realizing my mortality, LOL.) Our package includes a snorkel trip to the Silk Cayes and I've heard wonderful things about the snorkeling there. I think I just want people who have snorkeled before to talk me into it. Is there anything I should be worried about (besides breathing through my mouth and the fact that I have to wear a swimming suit in front of other people, haha?)
Sorry for so many questions and thank you in advance for any help you can offer!
