Upcoming trip

This will be my first trip to Belize. I have read a lot here on the forum and looked at reviews, but I was hoping for some feedback as well. I am traveling solo in late November and want a place with a kitchen for a week; also prefer a balcony for lounging, with a sea view. Want to feel fairly safe (with reasonable precautions). Want to keep the price fairly low so I can spend my money on snorkel trips and other excursions. I have so far narrowed it down to one of the lower units at One World (affordable, no view) or the Crow's Nest (next to the Captain's House). Lots of great reviews of One World. Not finding much about Crow's Nest. Anyone have any advice on these places? Also, since I am just one person, what is the best way to hook up with others to make a snorkel tour or excursion affordable. I know it is sometimes tough to get a group together in the slow season. Should I just stop in at the local drive shops and ask if they have any groups going out? I would love to go out to Glover's for a day, but will also be happy closer to home. Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks!

1. Re: Upcoming trip

You should be able to hook up with a group very easily in Placencia, it is a friendly place, and the dive shops will help. One World is nice, you could also look at Miramar Appartments. If you just need a kettle and a fridge, somewhere like Julia's Guesthouse is very inexpensive, also Tradewinds, a bit nicer, both excellent locations.
