Thunderbolt Water Taxi

Planning a visit to Sartenja in February and would like to get there by using the Thunderbolt Water Taxi. Some sites say that it runs just once a day from Corozol to San Pedro @ 7AM but other sites show that it is now running two trips a day from Corozol to San Pedro 7AM & 3PM. Anybody use this recently?

The Thunderbolt still runs once a day in each direction. Departure time from Corozal is 7am, and 3pm from San Pedro. The boat will stop at Sarteneja. Years ago, it ran twice a day, so maybe you've found an out of date website.

Last year, a second water taxi, Isla Norte Water Taxi, began running once a day, but the links I have to that company no longer work, so maybe Isla Norte is no longer in operation. They had a 3pm departure time from Corozal. If you find out anything about Isla Norte, let us know.

Almost everyone in Corozal knows the water taxi schedule.

Thank you MisterB266!

I was hoping there was a later boat as we are traveling from Mexico. We will take the bus!

Have you looked at the boat from Chetumal, Mexico to San Pedro (with either Water Jets International or San Pedro Water Ferries)? If you're indeed coming from Mexico, I think that one has an afternoon departure. Might work better with your schedule. I took it the other way, from Caye Caulker to Chetumal.

No. Buy tickets at the pier at least 30 minutes before departure time.

Any news about Isla Norte Water Taxi or other company?

I'm also looking for a later in the day boat from Corozal to San Pedro.

I found another company Lady Lowe Ferry, but without much info here - http://caribya.com/corozal/ferries/

The Isla Norte service only lasted a few weeks -- just not enough passengers making that trip.
