Our family is planning a trip for the end of April/beginning of May in Belize. We are staying at Blancaneaux in early May. (Turtle Inn before that, Ranguana Caye, then Blancaneaux, then La Lancha, then five days in Antigua.)
We have four young kids, ages 8, 6, 4, and 1 (who are all good travelers and well behaved). We are very excited about a number of activities/tours available from Blancaneaux, but have been very put off by our discussions with the reservation staff at Coppola Resorts. It appears that they charge you full price for each kid on a tour? (Other tour agencies have discounts for kids under 12, usually 1/2 price for kids under twelve and free for infants)
Does anyone have any experience on this? Must we book our tours in advance or can we book them at the lodge? Is the concierge at Blancaneaux okay? The reservation staff has not been particularly warm or engaging, to say the least. Is it possible to book tours from agencies in San Ignacio? (For our stay at Turtle I have just contacted agencies in Placencia directly, who have been great.)
Also, any general suggestions for tours from Blancaneaux? We are already booked to go to Tikal, and plan to do two other outings, and maybe to ride horses, as well. Does anyone know if there is a zipline in the vincity?
