Inexpensive or moderately priced room in Ambergris Caye

My wife, son and I are spending 4 nights on Ambergris Caye and are looking for a reasonably priced hotel/cabana, etc. Most prices are outrageous. Are there any for about $75 per night with A/C and only basic features? I stayed at the Paradise Resort Hotel 20 years ago but don't know how it is today. Any ideas about that one? Thanks.

I'm planning a trip to Belize for this summer and plan to stay for several days on Ambergris Caye. Although I haven't been there to give my own reviews of anything, I have found a few places in my research for that price range. Have you looked at Coral Reef Villas (http://www.coralreefvillas.com/)? It's $95/night for a two-bedroom suite, or $75/night for a one-bedroom suite. (Not sure if you could set up an extra bed or use a couch in the one-bedroom for your son.) They are owned by the much pricier luxury Banyan Bay Villas (http://www.banyanbay.com/), but when staying at Coral Reef you save money, and you have access to all the amenities at Banyan Bay (pools, restaurant, etc.) and apparently Banyan Bay is about a 1-3 minute walk from Coral Reef.

When are you going to Belize? I'd be interested in any information you have after your trip.

Thanks for the information from all of your research. We have booked a room at Paradise Villas. 4 nights for a total of $392. We will be going to Belize in May and will tour parts of the country.
