Transportation to Glover's Reef

I see they offer great drop in nightly rates at Glover's, but notice the price to get there other than Sunday and staying for the whole week is outrageous. Only $60 on Sunday and then $350 to $800 any other day? What is this all about? Are there any locals or other captains that will take people out to Glover's. We only have 10 day's in Belize and want to spend some time inland, not the whole time on the Atoll. So any help knowing how to get to Glover's and stay for 4 nights would be appreciated. Thanks

they run a 6-day plan that includes the boat run, They don't expect or encourage you to arrive/depart on any day other than when the scheduled boat makes its run. It's a long way and gas ain't cheap. ternefe island resort has the same idea, but they offer 2 weekly departures without paying a premium. It's a big boat that ferries guests, staff, and supplies to the island. If you can't plan your vacation around their schedule, maybe come back when you can. It does add to the experience for their guests to have the same group around for the week.

dhauk's correct - they make runs out Sunday and back Saturday which are included in the cost of a week stay. If you want to go out or back mid week you are paying for a charter. There are several other places on Glover's Atoll that provide transport for their guests and offer shorter stays but they're spendy.

I'm afraid you'll realize, like so many others before you, that Glover's is so far out there it's not anything like a budget option unless you have a week to spend.
