buying golf cart on ambergris caye

I am considering retiring on ambergris caye, can anyone tell me where and a ballpark figure for purchasing a four seat golf cart. Would I have better luck on the mainland and bringing it over ?

I don't know much about the cost, except, they're expensive. They've tightened the rules in recent years, there are rules about who can own one. Owning property, being a resident, those types of things.

A golf cart on the island that has been use and been thru the wear tear of the salt air runs about US$3000-US$4000 depending who you buy it from. It would be better to buy on the island as you won't need to do all the paper work and go thru that hassle. If you are looking for a new it runs about BZ$16000 or BZ$20000.

Captain Sharks sells both new and used carts http://captainsharksbelize.com/

Also San Pedro Sun classifieds is a good place to look http://www.sanpedrosun.com/

Check with San Pedro town Council about permits before you buy https://www.facebook.com/SPtowncouncil

Captain Sharks is a good place to start, but I would shop around to see where you can get a better deal,
