Water Terminals

Hello! If we are heading from Belize City to Ambergris, which terminal would be best to use? I hear there are the Caye Caulker terminal, San Pedro terminal and the water jet express terminal. Thanks for your advise. We will be a party of 6 using the ferry and not a water taxi or private boat of any sort.

It will depend on your timing. I go to whichever one has the best departure timing. Also, I always buy one way so that I have the flexibility to use the other on the way home. It costs about 2.50$ US to buy two one way instead of a round trip.

There are three water taxi services.

a) Caye Caulker Water Taxi Association

http://www.cayecaulkerwatertaxi.com

b) San Pedro Water Jets Express

http://www.sanpedrowatertaxi.com/index.html

The abovementioned services operate from the Caye Caulker Water Taxi terminal on North Front Street beside the Swing Bridge in Belize City. The schedules on each website currently show the combined schedules of the two services.

c) San Pedro – Belize Express Water Taxi

http://www.belizewatertaxi.com/#!home/mainPage

SP-Belize Express operates from the Brown Sugar Market at 111 North Front Street, a few hundred metres from the CCWT terminal.

The websites have the schedules. Write the schedules on a piece of paper so when you arrive in Belize City, you can go to the terminal with the next boat leaving.

Thank you guys so much for your help! The resort we are staying at in Ambergris sent us boat times but I wasn't sure which would be the best terminal to use. Sounds like that doesn't matter much but what time we get to the terminal. Thanks again!

Another question, do all taxis take an hour and a half to get from Belize City to Ambergris?

Between 75 and 90 minutes, including a stop on Caye Caulker.
