Belize overall

I want to plan a beach vacation to Belize. Looking for a decent to great place to stay - on the beach, within walking distance of a little villate and beach water without "stuff" in it (seaweed, grass, etc). Good laying around water and beach. Where should I go?

Start with Placencia (Kittys Place, Roberts Grove, Turtle Inn) and Ambergris Caye.(Victoria House, Ramons, Sun Breeze, Portofno or Mata Chica for inns; Banyan ban, Banana Beach or Xanadu for condos with kitchens).

I loved Belize, but I'm not sure you will find what you described. From what I heard, Placencia would be the place that might fit the bill. Most of Belize doesn't really have beaches per se and there is turtle grass (which is a good thing for underwater wildlife) most everywhere. If you're thinking of big sandy beaches with long sandy flats in the water, I'm not sure Belize will be for you. I personally loved Tobacco Caye.

Belize waters have lots of seeweed and grass. Ramon's Village has a nice beach area, and hammocks. If you really want the "perfect" kind of water & beach, you might select somewhere else. My sister-in-law's name is Katina!! Unusual... Have fun.
