We are a family of 5 traveling to Belize in February. We are planning to rent a car. We were really hoping to go to Guatemala and spend one night in Flores so we can see the Mayan ruins. I called Crystal Auto Rental and they have no 4WD vehicles that they will allow us to take to Guatemala and they will not give us insurance if we take the car to Guatemala. It sounds like they don’t want to risk us taking a good car to Guatemala because they can’t insure it. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any suggestions for options on renting a car if we want to go to Guatemala? Thank you!!
