New Disneyland promotion January thru April 2007

Note:, most Travel Agents do sell Walt Disney Travel Packages

Disneyland Resort Press Release

Everyone Plays for the Kids' Price at the Disneyland Resort and Kids Fly Free From Major U.S. Cities

Red Hot Chili Peppers' Music Spices Up Space Mountain and California Screamin'

ANAHEIM, Calif., Jan. 2 -- During "Year of a Million Dreams" celebration at the Disneyland Resort, guests can dream and play like kids with two special vacation offers.

For a limited time, kids can fly free to the Disneyland Resort from major U.S. cities. Each child (ages 2-11) flies free with the corresponding purchase of one adult ticket on either Alaska or United Airlines, as part of a Walt Disney Travel Company package (for specific airline travel dates, please contact the airline carriers).

From January 3 - April 26, 2007, adult guests who purchase a Walt Disney Travel Company package, including a Disneyland Resort Park Hopper ticket of three days or longer, pay the kids' price for the tickets. A package including a two-night stay at one of the surrounding-area Good Neighbor hotels starts at $229 (airfare not included) and a package including a two-night stay at one of the three Disneyland Resort hotels begins at $359 (airfare not included). Guests who stay at a Disneyland Resort hotel for four nights or more also receive a $150 Disney Gift Card that can be used throughout the Resort's theme parks and hotels.

Also from January 3 - April 26, 2007 and as part of the "Year of a Million Dreams" celebration, Disneyland will be Rockin' Both Parks. Rock fans' dreams will come true as Red Hot Chili Peppers' music and new special effects will temporarily transform Space Mountain at Disneyland and California Screamin' at Disney's California Adventure into new rock n' roll adventures. The new soundtracks are specifically remixed to heighten every twist, turn, rise and drop of each thrilling attraction.

Guests will experience Space Mountain like never before. The high-speed interstellar adventure, that has captivated Disneyland guests since the 1970s, will temporarily have an all-new twist. Rockin' Space Mountain fans will find the attraction sporting new technology that features illuminated rock fans dancing, more than 200 lights brightening the track, and a brand-new, customized soundtrack by Red Hot Chili Peppers. The band's famous song, "Higher Ground," which was a 1989 hit version of the Stevie Wonder original tune, will create an out of this world rock adventure. Along with new technology and lighting, all systems are a go.

Riders of Rockin' California Screamin' at Disney's California Adventure will also twist and turn to a new soundtrack. With a specially customized version of Red Hot Chili Peppers' 1999 hit "Around the World," guests will rock through the attraction's 6,000 feet of track. The four-minute ride is the world's longest steel looping roller coaster and takes guests from zero to 55 miles per hour in just four seconds.

"Year of a Million Dreams," which began on October 1, is being celebrated at Disney Parks in the United States. For 15 months, the Resorts are celebrating dreams coming true, making literally millions of dreams, large and small, come true for eligible guests. Many money-can't-buy experiences -- from exclusive Dream FASTPASSES for popular Disney attractions to around-the-world vacations or a stay in the special Mickey Mouse Penthouse at the Disneyland Hotel -- are being awarded at random to guests. In addition to the Disney Dreams Giveaway, guests are enjoying all new immersive entertainment experiences at the resort. At Disneyland Park, guests are meeting, playing and learning their royal ways with Disney Princesses at Disney Princess Fantasy Faire, dueling with Darth Vader at Jedi Training Academy and creating mayhem with Pirates in New Orleans Square. At Disney's California Adventure Park, guests young and old are bopping to the beat and joining in the fun of the High School Musical Pep Rally. The "Year of a Million Dreams" celebration lasts through 2007.

And for those living in Southern California, or Baja California, Mexico, there is another special offer for you starting January 3rd, 2007.

The "Pay for Disneyland® park on one day and in Disney's California Adventure® park on another day FREE!" ticket is back, plus a large discount on a Two Day Park Hopper.

2fer Ticket $66 Adults, $56 kids 3 thru 9 (Price is an educated guess, will place the exact amount on Wednesday, Jan. 3rd)

With the 2fer ticket, you can enjoy the celebration in Disneyland® park on one day and in Disney's California Adventure® park on another day FREE!

Admission valid for one day at Disneyland® park and another day at Disney's California Adventure® park.

• Tickets valid for Southern California residents within ZIP codes 90000-93599 and Northern Baja California residents within ZIP codes 21000-22999.

• Proof of residency required.

• Ticket valid 30 days from first use or through 4/26/07, whichever occurs first. Each use constitutes one full day of use.

• Limit 8 tickets (Ages 10+ & Ages 3-9) per order per day. Household can only order once per day and twice per rolling 7 days.

• Tickets may not be sold or transferred for commercial use.

• Offer may not be combined with other discounts or promotions.

• Subject to restrictions and change without notice.

Note the rules are clear, EVERY person using one of these "2fer" tickets should have an ID that shows the correct zip code (of course, kids can use their parents ID). So Disney does not want one person to buy tickets for out of town friends/guests.

Also, this ticket is for TWO separate days, one day in each park. You cannot combine the ticket to convert it to a one day ParkHopper.

Disneyland.com has been updated, and the One Day, One Park Ticket remains at $63 ($53 for kids 3 thru 9), and the One Day ParkHopper is still $83 ($73 for kids 3 thru 9). Also, no change in the price of AP's, all other tickets went up as mentioned earlier.

Southern California (and Baja California, Mexico) residents have a choice of two ticket offers, the 2fer, or otherwise known as "Pay for Disneyland, and get ANOTHER day at DCA for FREE!", that ticket is $63 ($53 for kids 3 thru 9), and a 2 day ParkHopper for the price of a One Day Parkhopper ($83/$73). Since the 2 day ParkHopper is available, Disney will strictly enforce the 2fer rule of going to the parks on two SEPERATE days, if you try to visit the second park on the same day, they will send you to the ticket booths to upgrade to the 2 day ParkHopper for $20 more.

Here is the official wording

4. Re: New Disneyland promotion January thru April 2007

Regarding the '2fer' tickets for Southern Calif residents, I called the main Disneyland number 1-714-781-7290 today and spoke with one of the agents. I asked if a Southern Calif resident could purchase tickets for out of town guests to use. She responded this was fine. I also inquired if the Southern Calif resident needed to be with the guests when they entered the park. She said no.

She said tickets could be purchased at Von's, Disney Stores, the main gate etc. She said proof of residency was required to purchase the tickets, but id was not checked at the gates when you use these types of tickets to enter the parks.

This was 'from the horse's mouth' so I assume this is accurate. (Note when we visited in Jan '06, we had no problem entering the parks with the Southern Calif tickets purchased by our friend who lives locally.)

We are visiting again in early February and plan to use the Southern Calif tickets again. So if anyone runs into any issues using these tickets without id, I'd greatly appreciate your updating this post.

Thanks!
