Two nights in WI with 9 year old.

Hi,

My 9 yr old son wants to get a stadium tour of Lambeau in mid June. We will be leaving from Chicago so my plan was to go to six flags on a midweek morning and take it from there.

Looking for suggestions as to where to stay for two nights and what else we could see along the way. Never been further north than Gurnee and don't mind driving an hour or so after the day at six flags.

Thanks in advance

if you want to go smaller than Six Flags in Green Bay is Bay Beach a small scale amusement park of old style on the water. They have the Zippin Pippin rollercoaster now too. That's $1. All other rides are 50 cents!!! The concessions are super cheap. Across the street is Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary and that's free. There's the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay. There's Heritage Hill which is a living history site. There's also the NEW Zoo and I believe they have some ziplining and other adventures newly added. I don't know much about that yet. Less than an hour north is beautiful Door County. So you could focus your time/travels in Green Bay and driving around Door County www.doorcounty.com . There's Cana Island lighthouse, Peninsula State Park, Whitefish Dunes State Park (nice beach and trails) and next door Cave Point County Park.

Hey,

Many thanks for the replies. If you were to choose a place to stay for two nights in Door County where would you recommend?

Tks

well I can recommend the Bay Breeze Resort in Ephraim as it has a nice outdoor pool and across the street a fabulous private beach that's super shallow and awesome for all ages. It's a great property and wonderful hosts. It can't hurt that it's next to The Door County Confectionery for your sweet tooth and next to that Good Eggs for an egg burrito breakfast served on outdoor surfboard tables.

Ephraim and Fish Creek are the central hubs on the bay side and both on either side of Peninsula State Park. The Lake side is quieter/less busy so that is an option as well.

here's a link with ones with pools which is always helpful with a kid in tow: tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g1012027-zfa3-Door_Co…

Consider a Brewers game and boat trip in Milwaukee, Jelly Belly warehouse tour in Pleasant Prairie, submarine tours in Manitowoc, and dirt track stock car races in Francis Creek.
