Sure do appreciate all the information everyone provides...
Myself (been to D.C. before - long time ago!) First time visitors DD (8), DH and going to D.C. March 23-29 -- arriving noonish on Friday 23rd - departing early on Thursday 29th..
Requested tours for the following thru congressmen
- White House, Supreme Court, National Cathedral, Bureau of Printing and Engraving, Library of Congress and Capitol..
Is the following possible? -- suggestions??
Friday - arrive noonish Taxi or metro to Embassy Suites - Alexandria - - check bags (or get room if possible) and hop on Metro to Air & Space Museum. (Will be there 6 days - purchase daily metro tickets or load up a card with a certain $ amount?) Grab dinner somewhere and go to Monuments at night...
Saturday - Zoo or Mt. Vernon ? DD will want to spend quite awhile at Mt. Vernon as this is her top pick for the trip. I'm thinking the Zoo could take most of the day also. Could we do Mt. Vernon in the morning and then go to Zoo (not sure about panda viewing tickets..)
Dinner at Gatsby?
Sunday - Arlington Cemetary - Smithsonian Museums? Possible to do both of these on one day? Washington Monument? (can I get advance tickets online for Sunday?) Veterans Memorials...
whew - so many things to see and so little time -- dh would really like to go to both air and space museums but I don't know how to fit that in....
Thanks for any insight or suggestions - I think this trip is harder to plan than our 5 disney trips combined :)
