Family trip to DC...Capitol Pride Week??

We have been planning a trip for the first week if June...see that it is Capitol Pride week....other than parade on 8th and festival at mall in 9th...are there any other events for it we could possibly run in to during that week?

I mean no offense to anyone by this question.

Thanks!

The festival has been on Pennsylvania Avenue in recent years, so that would not affect The Mall. Unless you seek them out, I doubt you would even be aware of any other events of Capital Pride. The parade is the biggest disruption, but can also be a lot of fun. Have no fears.

The parade festivities spread to the Dupont / 17th Street neighborhoods and it is a joyful, fun day for everyone. impossible to not love it.

The parade is indeed joyful and fun, but parents of younger children might like to be aware that it is also pretty raunchy. One can still celebrate and embrace diversity while not being particularly eager to explain bondage gear to a six year old.
