Whitehouse tour for Australians

My son & I were thrilled to tour the East Wing of the Whitehorse this week. I followed the instructions on Rebecca’s post & sent our request via Senator Norton. You submit your DC hotel address as your address. Three weeks prior to our tour we received confirmation & details. We loved the tour, visiting the green, red & blue rooms, views into the library, china room, banquet room & others. Secret service happily answered questions. We exited via the front door & walked the driveway out. Thankyou to Rebecca for her comprehensive instructions. It was an amazing privledge to tour the Whitehouse & added to our DC experience.

You came into the White House via the east wing, but what you toured was the main, central part of the historic building.

As fellow Australians we would love to d a White House tour we are visiting DC in June. Can you send me the link you used that outlined the procedure to get tour tickets?

Many thanks

Hi Justeen,

Once you have booked your DC accomodation you need to contact a US Senator- we applied through Eleanor Holmes Norton. The website is very clear with the instructions (basically just filling in the form & then waiting)

Its too early to apply for December now, but familiarise yourself with the website & the process. Then its a matter of being patient. We received a final confirmation approx. 2 weeks before our tour. Good Luck!
