dulles airport

Hi, We're flying to dulles airport from Singapore through ANA, then flying from Dulles to Orlando via United AIrlines. Is it true that we would have to claim our baggage from the International terminal, then take a shuttle to another terminal to get on to United Airlines?

thks v much

You will go through immigration and customs at Dulles airport so you will need to claim luggage at customs area, but once you have cleared customs there will be a recheck area where you will hand your luggage over to a United Airlines person for the rest of your journey. You will then proceed to Concourse C or D for your onward United flight.

Here is a website with maps showing Dulles airport. The immigration/customs area at Dulles can often be very crowded so have patience but once you are through things will go smoothly (along never as nice as Changi Airport--the best in the world).

thks for the helpful information. Yes, am prepared for 'less than ideal' conditions ;) what makes me nervous is missing the connecting flight!! We have 3 hours from the time we arrive in Dulles, to the time we take off via United Airlines.

As long as your flight is not terribly delayed you should be fine. In non-busy times all you would need would be an hour but two hours in busy times.
