Vermont in February

How miserable will it be? If we have a rental car will we be okay driving on snowy roads?

Miserable? President's Day week is one of the busiest of the year in Vermont after foliage season! If we are lucky there will be snow and it will be gorgeous everywhere.

Usual questions: Where are you going? Where will you be driving? Do you need to drive if the conditions are bad or can you stay put? Best kind of car to rent is either all wheel drive or four wheel drive, but big SUVs are not recommended (most often seen in a snow bank). Are you familiar with techniques for driving in the snow? Rule of thumb: stay home or slow down.

Unless you come during some outrageous blizzard, which is highly unlikely, it might snow one day and be bright and sunny the next. Have fun!

The road crews do a fine job. As NBP said, unless you need to drive around in a snowstorm, you should be fine. Just slow down and use normal caution. Enjoy your visit!
