Vermont Resort for a Summer Vacation?

Can anyone recommend a beautiful picturesque resort/hotel

to stay for one week in the summer?

Also, we would like somewhere near things to do (restaurants, antiques, etc).

HelP!

Enosburg falls...

The Tyler Place in Highate Springs is great, especially for families. The Inn at Shelburne Farms is gorgeous for couples.

Maybe the Stowe area staying at Topnotch would work for you. The town has some great restaurants and almost everytown in Vermont has an antique store and I think the Stowe area has quite a few.

Or if you want to go further into the boondocks...you could stay in the northeast kingdom at the Inn at Mountain View. It's in East Burke. A small village with some places to shop for antiques and has The River Garden Cafe (my favorite!), the pub outback for a pub atmosphere and the Tamarak Grill at Burke Mountain. Not to mention that the Inn at Mountain View has amazing food.

I don't think you could go wrong with either choice.
