We have been "Winter Texans" for about 20 years. Most years we stop at the San Marcos (between Austin & San Antonio) Premium Outlet Mall (going down & coming back) and shop, then stay in their designated rv parking area overnight. It has never been a problem until last nite. We had arrived about 3 p.m., shopped for several hours, then got ready for bed and went to sleep about 10:30 p.m. At 1 a.m. we were awakened by knocking on the door. When we opened it we were informed by a female security person that they no longer allowed overnight stays and we would have to move immediately. When she saw our age and that we were not "troublemakers", she could have allowed us to finish the night, with the understanding that it would not be allowed in the future. She offered no alternative suggestion. My husband is near 80 years old, has cataracts, and has a real problem driving at night. We had no idea where to go. It turned out that we spent the next 3 1/2 hours driving on dark country roads to reach our destination. There was security there 24 hours, so why didn't someone notify us at the time the stores closed, instead of waiting until the middle of the night? And why weren't there signs posted in the rv parking area stating the rules? We will never go to that mall again, and will discourage all the other rvers we know from going there.
