Along Route 80: things to do/paces to stay?

We will be driving from NJ to Ohio via Rte 80 in August, and want to break the trip in the middle. Halfway point is somewhere around Dubois, but we're not wedded to that. Any great places for kids along the way? Could be a resort, B&B, farm, etc.

Clyde Peeling's Reptiland is located a few miles north of Interstate 80 on US Route 15 in Allenwood, PA. Reptiland is a zoo that specializes in reptiles and amphibians. As for lodging, there is a Holiday Inn Express and a Comfort Inn on US route 15 at that exit from I80.

Just a few miles south of I80 on US Route 15 is the very quaint town of Lewisburg, home of Bucknell University. There is a nice Best Western Inn with a great restaurant - the Country Cupboard.

If you are doing the drive the first week in August, you could stop in Clearfield for the County Fair.

I-80 through this region, particularly the western section, is a somewhat boring ride, with lots of aggressive truck traffic. Still, quite do-able. We drove this coming east, and had a pleasant diversion. Driving west, it would look like this: get off I-80 at 15South, toward Lewisburg. Continue to 192 (Buffalo Road). Turn right onto Buffalo Road, it becomes Brush Valley Road, and goes through some lovely Amish farmland. You will undoubtedly see horse-drawn buggies on the road. At Madisonburg, turn right onto Rt. 64 toward Nittany and return to I-80 at Lamar.

Also along the way you will pass a state park with a nice looking small-lake swimming area right off the road.
