Fall Colors in NC Or TN

Hi,

Can someone tell me if there and will be fall colors in the last weekend of October going into November?

Please suggest which cities or towns to stay and catch fall colors.

Thank you

Stay in Brevard NC. Tour the back roads in NC, SC and Ga. Get off the main roads and get on dirt roads in the national forest.

The lower elevations may have color.

The entire area really needs some rain. It is quite dry.

Drove around a lot between NC and Chattanooga and did not see much color yet. It was beautiful up near Linville Ridge, NC. Another week and some rain, may work.

They could be starting in one place and finished in another. The fall leaf event, occurs in different locations, at different times.

We cannot tell you more. It is nature and not something we can predict.

I’m in Boone right now and I don’t think it’s a great year for color. It was really dry in much of Sept and Oct and some trees started dropping leaves before they turned color. A few usually reliable maples along the Boone greenway looked like they had just dried up. But that said it really depends on the variety of the tree and where exactly it’s situated. At our house near the creek the maples seem to have fared better although it is late for them here since we’re at a higher elevation. There are still a few Red and orange leaves on them but they’ve lost most of their leaves already. The birches and beeches still have green leaves, so there will still be a little more color to come. Sort of a yellow fall here. Around Asheville, Brevard, Smokies it will be different.
