Northern NJ Sightseeing Suggestions

My family will be visiting a relative in a nursing home in Allendale on Rt17 in northern NJ. I will need breaks occasionally and would like to get out and see the attractions. I will have two teenagers with me. We have already visited Ringwood Manor. Thanks for the suggestions!

We'll be traveling in January, so I think the beach is out ;)

Aerules: Are those sites within a half hour drive? I also love when the site offers guided tours since my knowledge of American history is very poor.

You should go to the website for each of the sites to see about guided tours.

The Great Falls of Paterson is outdoors as Ft. Lee Historic Park and the Baylor Massacre Site.

Ellis Island for sure has tours.

Looks like Washington's headquarters will be the place to go. Wish there were attractions around Franklin Lakes and further north. We have already done the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island. Thanks for the suggestions.
