Guidance on transport

Dear Friends,

Am planning to stay in Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Newark International Airport for 6 nights, i would like to know if there is a path station close to the hotel as 4 days i would be travelling to Manhattan for sightseeing. Also i read online i could take the NJ transit train but can anyone tell me if they have a weekly pass as 26 USD return per day for 4 days would be expensive if they have a pass I could save some money there.

Also are there any other hotels close to Newark airport which have access to the path trains as the fare for path trains is close to 5 or 6 dollars.

The reason to chose this hotel is the pricing.

The only PATH station is at Newark Penn Station

Here's a google map

It's probably not a good idea to walk - besides being 3.5 miles away, your hotel is on the side of a major highway and has no suitable walking paths

There's a couple hotels within safe walking distance of Newark Penn Station - a Hilton and a couple others, you can see these on google maps

If your main goal is to see NYC stay in NYC. It will take an hour each time between the time you leave your hotel until the time you get on the train. Plus there are pletny of sites to see in New Jersey as well. Here are a few links.

We know why you chose the hotel. The reason why the hotel's pricing is lower than others...well, you found out - it's not as convention to any transit options for NYC!

NJ Transit does not sell weekly passes.

The Hilton Newark Penn Station is connected to the train station, where you can get the PATH train. But again, you'll be paying more for the closer convenience.

You may even want to consider staying in Brooklyn where you'll have easier access to the MTA subway.

Check if the prices at the Element Harrison-Newark Hotel in Harrison NJ are comparable to the Ramada. There is a PATH station less than 5 minute walk from that hotel.

A MUCH better location and an easy walk to Newark Penn Station.

Newark NJ is one of the most violent cities in the United States. I would strongly advise you to stay elsewhere. "Penn Station" is more or less a homeless shelter, and the NJ Transit police are to busy throwing fare paying customers off of their trains, to clean up the station.

If you're coming back to Newark later in the evening you might want to take a quick taxi or Uber ride back to your hotel.

Any reason why you say that, I mean is it because of safety reasons or is it because of pathway timings.
