Frozen Lake

With all the news reporting near record level ice on the lakes, I'm wondering what that means for summer season....if anything?

Lake levels will be higher. With the ice cover, evaporation is not happening. Add to that the 10 FEET of snow parts of Michigan have on land that will melt and run off. I've seen predictions of a foot or more of lake level rise, with the most on Superior, Michigan and Huron.

Water will probably remain colder longer too. Of course nobody can predict the weather beyond a few days, so a warmer than average summer could offset the fact the lakes are colder now.

You don't say how far north you are going. In the northern part of the state, the water in the Great Lakes never gets very warm.
