Help! Upper Peninsula Stay/restaurants - Newberry/Munising

Hi everyone,

We are three people planning to drive to the Upper Peninsula from Wisconsin in July. Since this will be our first trip to the upper peninsula we would like to have some suggestions on restaurants (with vegetarian options) and where to stay. From my research, Munising and Newberry seem to be centrally located. Are there any other places that we could stay at? Would it make sense to stay in one place and drive around or should we stay at different places each night?

Thank you.

Both cities are nice but somewhat limited for what you're looking for. I would probably pick Marquette which is a college town and offers more in the way of different cuisines and accomodation options. From there you can do day trips to Munising (Pictured Rocks, etc.) and Newberry.

You did not mention anything you wanted to do or see. If you want to do day trips how far are you willing to drive? Please give more info on how many days, what you want to see, if you like hiking or kayaking.
