Restaurant spot between Boston and Maine coast.

We need a recommendation for a lunch spot outside Boston on our way to the Maine coast. We land at 1pm and we will be hungry. Any ideas for lobster/ Seafood on the road outside Boston?

Thanks

Immediately north of the airport is Belle Isle Seafood, which has a huge selection of very fresh fish and shellfish prepared many ways, including the second best lobster roll in New England (which means in the world)

I would stop in Gloucester. Beautiful area on the beach and they are known for their seafood (think Gorton's, "The Perfect Storm",....)

Where in Maine are you going and how far do you want to drive from Boston to stop? Lots of great options include:

Row 34 in Portsmouth, NH

Red's in Wiscassett, ME

But these may not be near where you are going, so more info is helpful...

Of the above --

Gloucester is a great suggestion, but will take you considerably out of your way, meaning more travel time to get back on the road toward Maine....

Portsmouth NH is a good choice but is more than an hour away from Logan AIrport/Boston under most traffic conditions.

Red's in Wiscasset is over two hours from Boston, and on most summer days will have a wait time of half an hour or more, meaning you'd be looking at a mid-afternoon lunch at the earliest. Could be a good choice if your Maine destination is in the mid-coast area, but probably not a good choice for your arrival day.

The Belle Isle noted above or something else in the Lynn, Marblehead or Salem MA area would be better choices for a meal soon after you land without taking you too far out of you route to Maine... Sorry, can't offer specific locations -- too long since we ate lunch in that area...

Thank you so much! That helps me with the lay of the land. I will look into on the road spots or just go with something like Belle Isle. Looking forward to cool weather.
