Hawaiian Airlines Carry on

If their carry on limit is 22"x14"x9", would my 21" (measured w/o wheels) carry on be too big? With wheels measured it's 23"x14"x9".

I've read Hawaiian Airlines is strict and I don't want to pay luggage fees :-(

Are they really strict? I'm flying from JFK to HNL, HNL to OGG, then OGG to JFK.

I don't think they count the wheels! Just make sure it's under 25 pounds...we have had carry-on weighed several times.

They may count the wheels if they use the "fit in the sample box" test.

Wow, Jen ... FOUR posts with the same question? We're the same people, LOL!

I've used the same standard carry-on for 10 years! Never been measured and it always fits into the overhead bin... but it's been weighed about every 3rd flight on Hawaiian, both on flights to the islands and interisland flights. Just something to keep in mind.

One of the best things we bought for travel was a packable luggage scale. Lot's of repacking before our flights, but at least it's in the condo and not at check-in at the airport.

Mamma0233 - what are the measurements for your standard carry-on? With and without wheels measured?

Thanks!

With wheels and handle about 24 inches long...that's the one that counts.
