Vegas to Anaheim

Hi we are thinking of driving from Vegas to Anaheim via Kingman & Route 66 in June 2013. Where would you recommend staying for an overnight stop & other points of interest OR would you recommend taking the shorter route & not stopping overnight ? What is the best website for hotel & tour discounts in Vegas?

For hotels etc best is to ask the Las Vegas forum.

It''s quite a detour via R66. You can drive from Las Vegas to Hoover Dam and the new Colorado River bridge first. To Kingman after that and visit its R66 museum and visitor center along Andy Devine (R66). Then take your time for one of the best stretches of R66 left to Cool Sprigs and Oatman. Also in California you''ll find many stretches of R66 locally called National Trails hw. It''s not a one day trip from Las Vegas to Kingman and to Anheim after that imo. If you take 2 days you also can see some of Mojave National Preserve on the way. That also can be done on a one day trip to Anaheim without the detour to Kingman.

I would take the shorter I-15 route directly to LA area.
