My husband & I have 6 days to see some parts of Alaska and would appreciate some advise on an Itinerary of what to see & do. We have already done the cruise from Vancouver visiting Skagway, Ketchikan and Juneau a few years ago and would like this time to spend more time on land. We plan to fly to Anchorage on the 31st July and need to fly out on the 6th or 7th Aug. We are both in our late 50's and reasonably fit. Main interest for me is to see the bears feeding on salmon and my husband is into fishing. We both like to hike and bike ride and I am into viewing wildlife (photography). We don't want to spend long hours in a car so were thinking of basing ourselves in Anchorage or split it up with somewhere else. Have a medium budget. Any ideas for an itinerary would be greatly appreciated.
