A very interesting read about tipping!!

I always tip when I have enjoyed something but maybe we dont realise the full effect of doing so when in Cuba!!

Have a read at this, that I have just discovered

tripadvisor.co.uk/Travel-g147270-c129786/Cub…

How much and when do you all tip??

I would say that I give small sums of money probably about a pound continually at random throughout my holiday several times a day!!

That link is one I give all the time when people ask for information on tipping. You can see it on the right hand side of the Holguin home page under 'Top questions about Holguin'.

I doubt very much they will give you 100 single CUC's no matter how much money you change. However the bar staff will always change smaller notes for you when you are tipping them. Also you can go back to the Cadeca another day and ask them to breakdown a larger note.

t11cky You can change large CUC notes for ones at reception right next to the Cadeca in the lobby.

Hi - just back from Blau CV. You will need your passport to change from foreign currency into CUC and pay the exchange rate at that time, but thereafter, you can go along any time without your passport to change a CUC note into smaller notes or coins and there is no charge. We just changed down a 20 CUC note every time we were running short of 1 CUC coins.
