Cycling out of Tavira

Afternoon all,

Is anyone able to share some decent road cycling routes out of Tavira, for a) experienced distance riders and b) for more moderate riders, both avoiding the N125 and also bearing in mind that the EcoVia is currently closed?

thanks.

The Ecovia is closed only in one location, east of Tavira where the bridge beside the railway near Conceição has fallen down. There's no other way going that direction other than to use the N125 as far as the other side of the river than cut down into Cabanas.

Going west the Ecovia is fine, once up the hill and out of Tavira, all the way to Faro and off mostly road after Pedras D'el Rei.

If you want to be bold, follow the N397 road going north alongside the Gilão river and strike out into deep countryside.

I agree with Cabsur's last point. Go inland on the smaller country roads and experience a very different and beautiful Algarve.
