Lisbon and Seville.

My partner and I are spending two weeks in Tavira this coming September, our first time in Portugal.

We plan to go to Lisbon and Seville during our holiday, staying overnight in both places having around 24 hours in each city.

Could anyone advice which days of the week would be the best to plan these trips? Would weekends be best spent in Tavira and going into the cities during the week or vice versa.

Any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks.

To Lisbon don't come on a Monday if you plan is to visit monuments and museums, it's the usual weekly closing day.

Lisbon is a 3 hour drive from Tavira, Seville a little closer. In both cities parking is going to be difficult, on a par if not more difficult than parking in the middle of Newcastle.

If you can't find an hotel in Lisbon with parking, consider going by train which can cost as little as €20 each way if booked in advance.
