Traveling with children

I will be in Budapest December 27 -29 with my children (ages 10 and 11) any suggestions on things to do? We have a tour booked already. The 29th we will take the rail to Vienna. Anyone know how long of a trip that is? Thanks for your help! Happy Holidays!

HI.

The list above is a good one.

Add the Matthias Church. It's up by Fisherman's Bastion.

The trains to Vienna take about 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

Another thought. You and your children might enjoy the Children's Railway, if it's running.

Thanks for the great ideas! We are staying on the Buda side, is it still easy to get around to see everything?

Your hotel is central located. You can go to everywhere on foot or with public transport easily.

If your children like sweets I suggest to have a lunch at Granny's Pancake Restaurant.

The system of service is similar to fastfood restaurants, so there are no waiters. It is small and there is usually a line but it moves fast and they have an English menu, just ask for it.

There are sweet and salty pancakes as well, you just have to mix them right.
