Budapest and ?

I am travelling to Budapest in April next year and we will be spending 4 nights here.

I am looking at twinning the trip with somewhere else but not sure where! It would be a rail trip from Budapest to the new city and we would be staying there for 3 nights before flying back to the UK.

I was thinking maybe Prague or Munich?

Anyone got any suggestions as to what they have done?

imogensdad - read through the link in no. 12 above for an overview, or look through the Brno forum. What sort of things do you like doing/seeing?

That's right I forgot when and if you get to Brno you have to try KOISHI restaurant who would of thought a place so far away from the sea would have one of the best seafood places in all of Europe. Try the monkfish it is AWESOME with a Suntory Yamazaki whisky what a combo. Then afterwards stop at a microbrewery and have a few adult beverages of your choosing thirst quenching perfection in a stein.

Yes - it belongs to a friend of mine, and last year was no. 1 restaurant in the country.

I would vote for Pécs, or Eger

However if you like rather beer than wine, Bratislava is also an option.

Bratislava isn't really renowned for its beer, as it is in a wine-growing area.

GCEK, you can have better beer in Bratislava than in Pécs or Eger, which cities offer better wines than Bratislava :)

You ate almost definitely right - I'm not a wine drinker :)

Eger is looking like a good choice now as we are going to do 3 nights in Budapest then 2 in Eger and then 2 more in Budapest.

Just looking at hotels etc!

Thanks all for the suggestions.
