Hotel

A buddy and I are visiting Budapest mid-June. Arriving by train from Salzburg for a three day trip after which we plan to take a flight to Brussels. My questions are:

1. Are the main tourist attractions concentrated in one area?

2. How far is the main railway station from the tourist attractions?

3. Any recommendations for a good four star hotel near the tourist attractions?

Thank you in advance for your help.

hello.

we stayed at Best Western hotel art for 3 nights in okt. nov. and was very happy with the hotel. i believe its a 3 star hotel, but was happy to find it very clean, quiet, and walking dist to several restaurants and the walking street Vaci Utca. The breakfast was also good. Walking dist. to the hop on hop off busses.

Hello Gausdal,

Thank you for your recommendation. It certainly helps to be staying within walking distance of tourist area. I will keep it in mind when finally selecting the hotel.

I hope you had a great trip.

There are 3 main stations in Budapest - which one do you arrive at ? I suspect Keleti (East), which is a short metro ride from the main attractions. It isn't a particularly nice area, so I would stay nearer the very centre.

Yes, you are right, I was thinking of Keleti. Thanks for suggesting the centre. Since there are two of us, even a taxi may not be that expensive.

hello kris.

yes, we had a great time in Budapest, and we would very much like to go back some time.

We took taxi from airport to the hotel,(and back) and it was very inexpensive.

Have a great time, enjoy the city!

We stayed last summer at the Palazzo Zichy, I am not sure I spelled it correctly but if you check out the list of Budapest Hotels here on TA you will find it.
