Are kids allowed in most restaurants in Budapest?

we will have a 12 year old traveling with us and wanted to know if there are any laws regarding if alcohol is served and if minors are allowed to dine there as well?

we aren't looking to take him clubbing by any means but would like to have a meal or snack and a beer or two before going back to our hotel. Is this allowed here?

thanks

In 5 trips we have never had any issues with our 1- 3 and now 9 year old

in fact more restaurants seem to actively accept well behaved children

in the sunday brunch at the corinthia they had a kids club which was very well run and kept the children amused

definitely a child friendly city

Yes, kids are allowed in restaurants and even many bars, pubs, as long as they are with a responsible adult.

Maybe it's not relevant in case of a 12 year old who can eat well, but many restaurants offer smaller portions for kids, for a lower price. Also many restaurants can provide seats for toddlers. Worth asking if you need any of these.
