budget for 4 days

going to budapest in november for four days and wondering if my budget is enough.

due to having time off work due to oral surgery my budget is now £300 for the stay or roughly 25,000HUF per day.

i am not looking to eat in posh restaurants, street vendors or little cafes will do me as long as they're edible.

would like to visit a few museums while there and will be using public transport.

also like a drink or two of a night and would like to go to a few ruin pubs one night.

could anyone advise me whether my budget is okay

Hi Adrian.

I'm off to Budapest at the end of November for four nights. I have the same budget in mine as you. The hotel i'm staying in provides a complimentary breakfast, should see me through until the afternoon, then an evening meal should finish me off nicely. Like you i will be looking to have a couple of pints in the evening. I will be taking my bank cards with me just in case, but i think you should be ok with £300

A 72 hour travel card will cost 3850huf (£11.40ish).That leave you with about £72 a day.lt should be enough todo most things and have a meal at night. If you try something like a Trofea grill restaurant.lts all you can eat and drink restaurant.Everything from beer to champagne. The food is pretty good as well.lt'll cost at most £17.Depends when you go.You can have a basic meal for about £10 at some other restaurants.A pint will cost about £2.Hope this give you an idea on cost.

hi there

i did 2 days in budapest a fortnight ago

hotel and flights paid for

me and my husband changed £200 spending money for BOTH of us

i ended up changing a further £100 there

this covereded 5 taxi rides... to hotel and airport, to gllert hill to west end and back to hotel

a sushi meal that we ordered FAR TOO much which was £70 for 3 of us

evenign meal which i do not recommend was at casablanca cost about £30/ £35 a head

food at airport in leroy was about £20 including a cocktail drink

spent about £30 on shopping for foie gras pate and scarves

had a coffee in a coffee place equivalent to our harvey nichols/ selfridges which was only £2.60 for the most expensive coffee!!1 (900 forint)

rest of money went on cigs

hope this gives you an idea on how much to take

p.s take your money there to change...you get approx 30 forint more to the £

thats plenty unless you are going for high end stuff

I can recommend the little "gyros" equivalent to our kebab shops, also you get people with stalls selling big red sausages, they have them on a grill and then put a red hot cast iron on to them

no need for maccy d's

decent evening meal from £10-25

lunch in the great market hall about £3-6

good luck

You can get a very good meal + couple of beers for £25 in Bpest, so that should be plenty.
