I want to arrange for a group of friends to meet and holiday in Slovenia in March. We want to spend a day or two in Ljubljana an then move to a ski resort. We are all novices and will need (probably lots of) instruction.
Since not all of our group will ski, it is preferable that our destination has more to offer than only skiing. Could anyone recommend such a ski-resort or area? (We are all wine enthusiasts). Is March a good time to visit? Also, we would prefer staying on a farm or self catering accommodation. Is this advisable in the ski season?
Our alternative choice is Livigno (Italy). My internet research suggests that Livigno might offer better skiing, but that Slovenia should prove a "more dimensional" choice. Any comments on this?
Regards, and thank you,
