smoking in bars

Hi, will be visiting Krakow next June, staying at the Wielopole hotel near the main square. Does anyone know of any bars that one can still smoke in. I know a smoking ban came into force a few years ago, but had read somewhere there were a few bars that still allowed it. Preferably not touristy bars that have high priced drinks. Many thanks for any replies.

Hi

You're keen with 7 months to go :)

Bars are allowed to permit smoking if they have seperate room(s) set aside for smokers.

As you are travelling in June, why not sit outside in Rynek Glowny and smoke until your heart/lungs are content? Ok, you will pay a higher price for drinks (but still a lot cheaper than in the UK) and be able to people watch up until around midnight.

Thanks, yes very keen, love Krakow but its a few years since we were last there, and just managed to get a good price for flights and hotel. Hopefully the weather will be good so will definitely sit outside.

the Bull bar in the main square has a glass smoking area at the back of the bar.

This is an old fashioned pub with no frills.

Even though it's on the main square, the prices are not expensive.

we were in the the irish mbassy pub on new years eve last year and they were letting people smoke all over the bar (don't know if they were allowed to!!) but, personally, I wouldn't recommend this pub due to a very bad experience involving a bad fight and the door staff not doin their job (and also only 1 ladies toliet downstairs!!)

Thanks, I think I will give the Irish mbassey a miss, not good on stairs, and certainly dont want to see a fight. Will try the other one though.
