Old Town Square Hotel

We are planning to stay at the Old Town Square Hotel end June and early July. We are told that there is no air-con in the hotel. I am getting a bit worried of the heat - not sure how hot it can be in Prague in June/July.

Generally, most people wouldn't notice there is no aircon. It's enough to leave a window open especially in your location where it's traffic-free. It might creep up to 30-31 celsius but, the humidity is low.

How about the hotel itself? what do you think of it?

Only the big international chain hotels have air conditioning. Most of the hotels in the old town are in 100 year old plus buildings with thick walls and are cool inside. As long as you do not have a room in the roof, you should not need air conditioning. As sova says unless the temperature reaches 30 degrees, as the air is dry, people just open the window.

The problem here is that if you have a room overlooking the suare itself and you have the window open, you won't have a minute of sleep from the noise of the two expat bars at the your end of the old town square. You should realise that you are paying for a hefty premium for a room with a view on the square. Stay 200 metres away on a side street and the prices will be 50%.
