rincon next week

We're on our way to Rincon next week. Haven't seen much chatter lately. Anything exciting, or boring happening there? Weather? Waves, probably flat? Swarms of blood-sucking bugs? Anything?

thanks.

Weather has been nice... expect the usual late afternoon shower. It usually clears for the spectacular sunsets. For waves try "parking Lots" near Casa Islena Inn or Surfers Beach in the old Ramey Air Base.Get the Rincon tourist map so you can drive around. Dont forget to have brunch at the English Rose.Summer is great for snorkeling so rent a charter to Desecheo island or go to "steps "beach. Warning :sometime soon ther might be jelly fish in the water,it depends on the currents so ask around. For any local action at this time try Tamboo on Friday or Nativo bar in Corcega.Any way ,Rincon is for reading a good book on the hammock next to your loved ones after long walks on the beaches.Let us know how your vacation went!

I just got back Monday, stayed in Villa Confresi. We had such great relaxing time. We drove along the coast Rd. 115 to Boqueron, what a nice drive. The Restaurant at Confresi is very good. Their Churasco was pout of this world, had it 3 times.

You can always check this link for surf reports

surfline.com/surf-report/…

the surf is pretty flat, but there is always a little action North in the Jobos, Isabella, area. Try kayaking, or snorkeling, which are great water sports in the summer. Also a place called Marazul rents paddle boards, the super wide and long surf boards that you stand up on and paddle, this is a blast, and when the water is clear you can paddle out over Tres Palmas and often see turtles, and if your lucky a Manatee.

Check out this Surfrider UTUBE post, it sing's out life in RIncon. youtube.com/watch…

While the bugs have not been bad, it is the time for bug spray, hey, don't leave home without it, last year Dengue was an issue on Island.

Many of the restaurants are closed for "season" starting in August, Casa Islena is surfing Tapas on the Weekends, Pools Bar has amazing sushi on the weekends, Casa Verde, and Tamboo are open for good drink and party, Calypso, and there is always fun (and good food inside) at Villa Confressi. Kaplash up on 115 serves cold, cold beer and great Empanadilla's, it will be packed with locals on the weekends. On Tuesdays there is a little Mexican joint on the Plaza, Poncho Villa's that has great specials.

The beaches are busy in the summer, Rincon has been discovered by the locals who know it's one of the best beach towns on the Island.
