Excursion to North Cape

We're take the Hurtigruten from Bergen to Kirkenes and want to do some excursions on our own but would like to know if there will be 'drivers' available for hire at ports along the way. Can anyone help? Please? Thanks! Sherri

There is a guide on the ship and there are orgaized trips at many ports. There will also be an organized trip to North Cape providing the road is open ( it should be in June). If you would like to do an individual tour to North Cape a taxi would be the only alternative and you will run alongside the buses with the rest of the passengers and meet up with them at the North Cape visitors centre. The stop in Honningsvaag just allows for a trip to North Cape, so there is not much hope of avoiding the hords. Alesund, Trondheim, Bodo, Tromso have a few hours in port and you can easily do these places on your own. But then again you may miss out on the land excursions where you catch up with the ship at the next port.
