Has anyone done any of these tours in Uluru?

We will be in Uluru in December for 1 night. We will arrive late morning and have booked the Field of Lights and Sounds of Silence Dinner for that night. We are debating about the next morning as our flight does not leave until about 3:00 p.m. We are considering:

1. a sunrise tour leaving about 4:15 a.m. and returning about 8:30 a.m.

2. Billy Tea/Tjukurpa tour which is about 4 hours leaving about 8:a.m... is on a double decker bus traveling around the base of the rock ,with a fully guided walk along the Mala walk to Kantju Gorge, outback style morning tea is served on the upper deck further around the base of Uluru with 360 degree panoramic views of the National Park.

3. a bush tucker/reptile tour leaving at 9:00 a.m. for 2 hours.....into the outback bush environment and discover the importance of traditional bush food to the local people and meet some of the reptiles of the region,Grind native seeds, try throwing a spear and taste a selection of these bush seeds traditional and contemporary. Meet the reptiles of the area.

Your insights are appreciated. Thank you!!

Hi,

IMHO a chopper flight in the early am around Uluru and Kata-Juta trumps all except for the Valley of the Winds walk at Kata-Juta and the Indigenous Ranger base walk at Uluru.

Cheers,

Thanks. I will look into your suggestions. No car so I would need to find out how to get from hotel to the ranger walk. Think I will email the hotel.

Fork and View is great (I've been on the trials for dinner-haven't done the Billy Tea yet). Definitely do sunrise in some fashion. Any of the sunrise tours will have you back in time for your flight. The Ranger walk at Mala will leave at 0800 and return around 10am. No guarantee that it will be an Indigenous ranger as it varies every day. If you start early enough you could do the full base walk and then head out to the airport (look at UHOHO-Uluru Hop On Hop Off) as they do shuttles from resort to Uluru and Kata Tjuta.
