Grand pacific drive opposite direction

Everything posted about the grand pacific drive refers to the direction of North to South. We will be driving from Wollongong up to Sydney in early July. Are the views just as pretty? Does it matter in what direction you go to get this wonderful experience?

Thank you!

Heading South to North you'll be on the side of the road closest to the escarpment, so not quite as accessible ocean views on Sea Cliff Bridge. I would say North to South is marginally better, but I wouldn't regard the difference as a big issue.

As mentioned by Snodge north to south is better for ocean views but still okay on the other side.

It just means to get into the parking zones you will need to do right turns (i.e. across traffic)

really very little difference with the views IMHO, you just don't get that "oh when you reach stanwell tops before you head down Bald hill

Hi Destination Expert,

Would like get recommendations for which suburbs is good for spending 1 or 2 nights. Wollongong or Kiama? I have 9 days in sydney, intend to spend 5 days in sydney, and rest of the days exploring suburbs of sydney. Any suggestions?

Choice of Wollongong or Kiama? The answer is Kiama.

4 days out of Sydney would give you the opportunity to travel further down the coast, or even return via the Southern Highlands.

Hi,

Neither are suburbs of Sydney. Wollongong is a city south of Sydney and Kiama is a town south of Wollongong.

Puzzled by use of word suburb in query at #4, guessing you wish to explore coastal towns rather than stay in main urban area? I agree 4 days gives you opportunity to go further. As always more info from you helps us suggest which location/s could suit. Btw good idea to start new thread rather than change topic of existing thread.
