Recommendations for 1 Night Stay in Te Anau

Hi All,

I'm looking for a 1 night stay in Te Anau, somewhere accessible, near restaurants and petrol station... Budget NZD 200-250.

I'm currently looking at kingsgate hotel... but not sure if this hotel is good for location?

Other suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

We've stayed at two places in Te Anau and can highly recommend both.

www.thecroft.co.nz This place is a little way out of town, just a few minutes' drive, on the road to Milford Sound.

and

http://www.cal.co.nz/ Campbell's overlooks the lake and is located in the town.

Hi Porge,

the Campbell looks pretty good.

May I know how did you make your reservation? Did you make reservation through the booking page on the hotel page itself or through Wotif?

And is the Campbell located near the petrol station and shops?

Thank you.

Yes,Suying, we booked via the Campbell's website. The motel is within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and petrol station would be close by.

Campbells Auto Lodge will be a good choice. I "know" the owner he is a very good man full of knowledge and very giving of his time.

I was just reading one of the reviews on Campbell, and it commented that the reception closes at 8pm. Is that true?

Thank you.

A lot of motel/motor inns receptions close at night, the managers/owners live on sight and can't be available out the front 24/7. It's no big deal they usually have a buzzer to push and will come out to meet you. If you expect a late check in it is wise to let them know that the day before or when booking the accommodation.
