Traveling South Island late May - map help with road closure

Traveling from Mapua / Nelson area to Kaikoura and then from Kaikoura south to Milford Sound with stops in Christchurch, Lake Tekapo, Queenstown. Attempting to map our drives. Struggling with best sites to use to ensure routes avoid road closures. Any suggestions please? Thank you,

I'm pretty sure both Google maps and AA maps are now fully up-to-date with the road closure.

There is also this useful map from DoC:

Basically as far as it affects you, you have no choice of route from Nelson to Kaikoura but must take the inland route (SH7) with a recommended stop at Hanmer Springs. The biggest problem is that this road is doing the work of two roads & is carrying 3 times the traffic it was designed for. Speed limits have been lowered and passing bays built to cope with this, but it is still a very slow journey.
