Pretty good but it is spread around - not all in one area. There is Ponsonby, Parnell and the central City area. Probably your best bet is to be in the Viaduct area at the waterfront. My daughter, who loved the nightlife in Wellington, just hates it in Auckland but I suppose it depends on what you like.

Auckland's nightlife is probably the most "vibrant" in the country. But like the above poster said - its all over the place. The most "concentrated" part is downtown in the Viaduct - full of bars restaurants and niteclubs, then midtown around High Street for the cocktail bars and housemusic type clubs... then uptown on Karangahape Road is where you'll find all the drum n bass, house, gay, pop, hiphop etc clubs - most of which are open well into the sunlight of the next day.

If you want nightlife, come to Wellington.
